5 Back-to-School Kids Fashion Trends

These looks deserve an A+…

Posted August 22, 2016

It’s time to go back to class, but is your child’s wardrobe ready for the new school year? Make sure the kiddos are dressed to impress and check out these 5 back-to-school fashion trends both boys and girls will be begging to try.

Athleisure

Casual and comfy, but not quite as lazy as pajamas or sweats, sporty athleisure is really making a statement in back-to-school fashion. Think a pair of joggers with a button up, or a pair of athletic, ankle-length leggings and a graphic tee.

Colored Pants

Fall colors are all the rage! Look for chinos or skinny jeans in mustard yellows, spicy oranges, warm shades of olive, and bold aubergine and wine shades.

Plaid

Last fall was all about ‘70s bohemian fashion, but this fall we have landed back in the ‘90s! Retro ‘90s trends are everywhere, especially plaid print. From button ups to mini skirts to leggings, kids this season will be decked out in plaid pieces from head to toe.

Choker Necklaces

The spunky and edgy ‘90s choker is also back in style, and your daughter will likely be begging for more than one. Double-threaded elastic chokers are trendy again, as well as ones with small, cute charms.

Distressed Denim

Another nod to the ‘90s, distressed denim pieces – like faded and worn-looking jean jackets, vests, and pants – are all very in this season. Some dress codes still may not allow ripped jeans, but if your kid is dying for a pair, make sure to choose a pair that’s tasteful and isn’t plastered with large open tears and holes; the lightly distressed look on both girls and boys is much more chic and suitable for school.

Send your kids back to school this year looking smart, hip, and feeling confident!
